A little Christmas Cheer

Hello and Happy Holidays!!! I am almost done decorating and re-decorating for Christmas. I always forget how difficult it is to fancy things up with my little "helpers" around. Here are some photos, and I can't wait to check out yours.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree... how you looked so much larger at the tree lot.

My mantel

The other side of my mantel

more mantel... I have to say, I love decorating my mantel
even more than I love doing the tree.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mercury Glass ornaments
(so much that I feel their name has to be capitalized ;-/ )

Ornaments instead of candles

My "mixed metals" wreath

Oh so pretty and perfect...

Oh this looks fun- I'll help momma.
Yes... needless to say, I have moved my decorations to a higher location.
But in her defense... they are blocks.
And I can't leave out the girls' tree.
They had so much fun decorating it and it came out fabulous!

I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and the weather... we had surprise snow this morning!
Thanks for stopping by <3

A little sunshine...

on this chilly fall day. I couldn't resist.
Are these not the most precious outfits you have ever seen?

So many other cute baby vintage pieces at www.thebabygardner.com.

Too bad my little princesses will be
too big to wear these next summer.
Maybe I will plan a vacation- hmmmm.

Have a good weekend!

Maison St. Germain UPDATE

How is everyone's summer? We have been keeping busy. The weather has been nice and hot without much rain. (which is not good for our well- but that's another story) The girls are having a blast. They are all getting so... divalike. Stella thinks anything other than a dress is pajamas and will not leave the house in it. Before Maci goes anywhere she insists on applying lip gloss. And my little Fibi's favorite toy is a sparkly purple hair brush.
Keep in mind they are 5, 2 and 11 months.

I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

So I mentioned we were going to be revamping our website (www.MaisonStGermain.com). We are getting very close and are so excited!!! I think it is coming along beautifully- but that is what we thought the last three or four times we re-did it. Having to look at our older sites is painful. Does anyone else feel that way when they re-do something? I guess that is a good sign. It just means that I am getting better at what I do. I am learning new things daily which is fabulous!

I also want to give a shout out to Designer218. That is the site we are using as our web host. They have so many features we didn't have before. So it will be much better for our customers!
Have I mentioned how exited we were???
These pictures were our inspiration for the site's design. It is going to have a COMPLETELY different feel. Let me know what you think... we will update you with more news soon.

And FYI...  Launch Party = BIG sale!!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer!
Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.

Hugs and Besos,

Thank you.

On behalf of the Lopez/ Perez family, Manny and I would like to thank you all for your posts and your prayers for our niece Norma. Tragically, her body was found on Tuesday. We take whatever comfort we can in knowing that she is not suffering and was guided to Heaven by her Abuelita. Please continue to pray for her parents and her brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, this is only the beginning of toughest journey any parent will ever have to take. And please... if you have children or grandchildren... hug them a little longer and a little tighter today. Give them some extra besos. Randomly tell them you love them- and never ever take their laughter for granted.

Thank you again.

Touch
by Kathie Davis
Mothers, touch your children,
Fathers, hug them tight,
Let them know you love them
morning, noon, and night.

Put your arms around them,
hold them near to you,
Feel the beating of their hearts,
the life that you made new.

Roll around the floor with them,
tease and laugh and play,
Listen to what they'll tell you,
they have so much to say.

Take time to get to know them,
see the colors in their eyes,
Appreciate that person
that deep inside them lies.

Let them run their fingers through your hair
and down your face,
Fill their hearts with words of praise,
make home their favorite place.

Cuddle with them on the couch
and watch a t.v. show,
Sing with them or share a book
and help their world to grow.

Take a walk into the park,
hold each other's hand,
Smell the flowers, feed the ducks,
build castles in the sand.

Mothers, touch your children,
Fathers, hug them tight,
Show them what a gift they are,
to love them feels so right.

Please Help Find Our Niece!

If anyone has seen Norma, please contact the authorities. She has been missing since Thursday, July 15th and we just want her home safely.

Reward Offered in Disappearance of Moreno Valley Teen

Police say she may have been grabbed by someone in a green SUV.

Norma Lopez, 17

MORENO VALLEY -- A $2,100 reward is being offered for information in the case of a 17-year old girl last seen leaving summer-school classes at Valley View High School. Authorities fear Norma Lopez may have been kidnapped.

Police and volunteers searched door-to-door in Riverside County Saturday for information about the teen's disappearance.

Riverside County Sheriff's detectives say Lopez left Valley View High School on foot Thursday morning and was expected to meet her younger sister and a friend at the girls' home in the 27000 block of Cottonwood Avenue.

Her family told police she normally walked home from school south on Nason Street to Dracaea Avenue and then took a shortcut through a field south to Cottonwood.

When she did not arrive home, her family searched for her for two hours, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Joe Borja.

Borja says items belonging to Lopez were found in a field near her home and there also were signs of a possible struggle.

Is your name Summer? Cause you are HOT!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! I have to say I am not yet counting down the days for Stella to go back to school... (although yesterday was a close call. :-) We had a bit of a "heatwave"... which I thought was what summer was all about. But then again I AM the one in the winter complaining that it is too cold!

I also wanted to let everyone know that we are re-vamping www.MaisonStGermain.com. My mom (Capers of the Vintage Vixens) and I will keep you updated. It will be easier and more FUN for you to shop (How can it possibly be more fun? you ask... Oh but it can!) So we are super excited (that's me talking with a lisp that my mother never told me I had... long story) and can't wait to give you more details!!

And by the way- can you tell I found picnik.com?
How did I ever post a picture without it?

Thanks for stopping by!

I Couldn't Resist... We Can All Learn Something From This...

most importantly... my girls will never be meeting him.

http://www.parentdish.com/2010/06/17/another-dancing-baby-makes-the-rounds/?sms_ss=facebook

I have created a monster.

I know. I know.... you don't hear from me in ages and then I post twice in a row. I just needed to share my morning with you. It is no secret that I have three Divas in training. Today, however, I am a little concerned about Stella. She likes doing her hair in braids overnight so her hair is curly in the morning. It usually doesn't work and it ends up in a pony tail. Today, when we did the "unveiling" it came out really good... yeah- well her usual 10 minutes in the mirror became 20. We could almost see ourselves in her lips with the amount of gloss she put on. " I look sooo cute!" " I LOVE my hair like this!" "OMG I can't believe this- Can YOU believe it?" "My hair looks so good!"

Did I mention she is 5???

That is her doing her Vogue pose... It is the 4th picture I took- because
"Momma- you can't see my hair real good. Do it again."

Now I am going to spend the day dedivatising the other two...
Ay Dios Mio!

Have a fantabulous day!

Hugs!

You Learn Something New Everyday...

When I was in college, I used to use Roberto Cavalli's creations as inspiration. I hoped to one day be as fabulous as he... although I do not deny my own fabulousness- I am still secretly aspiring to be on his level. He is definately one of my favorite designers. I love his boldness - and his use of color and prints is epic.

Anyways... being bored with my wardrobe- I was looking through this seasons designs and I stumbled upon a purse designer named Judith Leiber. And I am so happy I did! ( Apparently she is pretty famous- but I never got the memo)

For starters, she has an amazing story. She and her family escaped the Halocaust and moved to a Swiss House. She began making purses in her home and was the first woman to join the handbag-makers guild in Budapest. She met and married an American soldier and emigrated to the US in 1948. From there- she evolved into a fashion icon, designing purses for First Ladies, celebrities, socialites and most recently Sex in the City!!!

That my friends is called a "minaudiere"... something else I learned today. A minaudiere is a French word from the 1940s. It is a small ornamental case for a woman's cosmetics, jewelry, or personal items that is often carried as a handbag. Since it would not fit a diaper - I am not sure how much use it would be for me. However since a pacifier would fit ( and sometimes that is more important ) I might be able to rock it. Oh yeah- but then there is the fact that they are THOUSANDS of dollars. But they sure are pretty to look at.

Mrs. Leiber also makes designs fabulous clutches... I am always drawn to clutches because they just scream vintage- even if they are new. I guess I am just an old soul...

Thanks for letting me share my new found love for Judith Leiber with you! Let me know if you were in the dark too! And you can find her clutches and minaudieres at Neiman Marcus.

A Quick Hello!

Hello!
I hope you are all fantabulous... things here are beautifully chaotic as usual.
My Blog Idea Folder is getting big-
unfortunately I didn't get the extra 5 hours a day I asked for.
Stella is doing so well in school and
we are keeping her kindergarten boyfriends in check.
Maci the Tyrant is going through her terrible twos
( I can actually have a whole blog dedicated to her antics!)
and Fibi is getting so big and is trying to walk already!

And I guess that is all I have time for... Maci is eating out of the cat's bowl.
I promise exciting posts are to come!

Talk to you soon!

GaGa for GREEN

Happy Earth Day everyone! It is a beautiful Spring day here in CT. Robins chirping, tulips blooming, my little monsters laughing, screaming and causing raucus in the yard. One of the things I love most about Spring is watching the leaves grow on the trees. This year they seemed to bud quicker than in the past- but that could be because I was so eager for Winter to be over anything I saw could have been a sign of Spring! Anyways, green is not usually one of my favorite colors- but this year I seem to be drawn to it. So in celebration of Earth Day- here is some Green Inspiration...

For the HOME

I would love either- or both of these for my kitchen... however, currently it is bright RED. So I think it would be a bit distracting.

I could, however, paint my kitchen GREEN!

No seriously.

I saw this and now I want a green kitchen. I know that some of you may think it's too bright. It's styled nicely here, but not my style. Think about how fabulous this bold color would look with white chippy shelves (probably not a good description of a kitchen object) and antique cabinets filled with vintage china and silver. It would be... well- heavenly. Oh and how lovely it would be in the winter when it's dark and dreary out... off to the paint store. ;-)

There is just something about pyrex that says "I'm going to eat some yummy deliciousness and then curl up in my big comfy bathrobe and fuzzy slippers and watch some tv!"

For FASHION

This is a great French vintage fashion ad.

How cute is this little mod clutch?!?!?! I so need this- in green, and every other color it was made in.

And accessorize the accessory...
... with this lovely little gem.

Or this one!

And yes- I can see me now...

Lots of pearls, a white tank top, a couple of way too big bangles, lightly destroyed denim
and a pair of sweet Apple Green Cons.
Oh yeah! Blow dry some wings into my really big hair and I will so be stylin'!
C'mon ladies... you know what I'm talking about.

Did I ever tell you about the time I won a Cyndi Lauper contest? Another day...

Back to GREEN!

Who doesn't need a pair of GREEN cheetah print platform shoes????

Just for FUN!
Oh how I wish my mom, my girls and I had matching motorized scooters.
For some strange reason the song that is playing in my head is the one from Wizard of Oz.
Dada dadan da na nana

Many questions about this one...

...but I will ask two.
1. Did they allow this at Westminster?
2. Did her owner wear the cheetah platforms?

And last but surely not least...
for our FREEDOM.

Thank you to our veterans and our enlisted troops!!!
You are in our thoughts and prayers for a safe return home!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the GREEN!

Hugs,
